Every participant in a driving safety course on the Sachsenring has to have a valid driving licence.
Participants use their own car in driving safety training. Under winter conditions, all cars used for training purposes have to be equipped with winter tyres. If desired, we will be pleased to organise rental cars for you at the current rates.
Each driver may be accompanied by one person. Children below the age of 12 may definitely not be in the car during training. The Sachsenring Road Safety Centre will not take out any accident insurance for passengers. During driving safety training, accompanying persons are not permitted to drive a car themselves on the grounds of the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre. Only participants of a driving training course may be present at the theory seminar. Please, DO NOT bring any pets to the driving safety training.
Orders given by the instructors of the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre have to be obeyed. Repeated gross violation of orders given by the instructors may lead to the exclusion of the respective person from further training. Moreover, the excluded person will have no claim whatsoever to demand any reimbursement of the course fee. In such a situation the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre will also accept no liability for any resulting damage.
The organiser or instructor can cancel, stop or postpone the training if
- less than 8 participants have been registered, or
- the weather conditions do not permit the training without endangering the participants or the cars used, or
- technical reasons make an unhindered training impossible.
The rules of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) and the Regulations governing the suitability of vehicles for road traffic (StVZO) are in force everywhere on the grounds of the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre.
Cars used in driving safety training that have a fully comprehensive insurance are generally covered by their existing insurance.
Cars without fully comprehensive insurance are automatically covered up to a maximum of 12,500.00 € per car as soon as the participation fee has been paid. In case of damage, however, an excess of 500.00 € per car will have to be born by the driver.
The maximum amount covered can be extended to 35,000.00 € by paying an extra premium of 7.50 € per car and day. The extra premium has to be paid on site on the day of the training and before the practical training commences. The excess of 500.00 € remains unchanged.
Not insurable are:
- Motorcycle training and motorcycle racetrack training
- Car training for sports drivers (drift and racetrack training)
- Driving of a formula racing car or a Clio racing car
- Being driven in the “racing taxi”
- Driving a kart
- returning to the starting line on the training tracks and changing to another track
- in car trainings: all non-standard parts added to the vehicle’s exterior such as roof racks, roof boxes, additional lights, etc.
For the following activities the excess amounts to 2,500 € in case of damage:
driving a formula racing car
driving a Renault Clio touring-car
drift training (using the Centre’s drift-BMWs)
If the racing circuits of the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre are used outside the periods of safety trainings, no liability will be accepted.
The instructor in charge has to be notified of any damage immediately, but not later than on the same day, after the end of the training.
On the day of the training, the instructor in charge will explain the conditions of insurance one more time in the course of the theoretical introduction (i.e. before the practical part). Any questions that may not have been answered yet, can be asked right then.
The invoice amount has to be paid in full within 14 days of receiving the invoice.
If the customer fails to appear for the booked training without having effectively cancelled the contract in advance, the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre is entitled to the whole gross price agreed on.
Cancellation of the contract by the participant has to be in writing and must be sent by mail or by fax. The period of notice begins on the day on which the notice is received by the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre. In case of doubt, the customer has to prove that the notice has been received at the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre.
If the customer cancels the contract ...
within 14 days of making the booking, no cancellation fee will be charged.
up to 9 months before the agreed date of the training, the customer will be charged 20% of the contracted gross price.
between 6 months and 90 days before the agreed date, the customer will be charged 50%.
between 90 and 30 days before the agreed date, the customer will be charged 75%.
as from the 29th day before the agreed date, the customer will have to pay 90% of the agreed-on gross price.
The client is at liberty to prove that the damage to the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre caused by his/her cancellation respectively absence without prior cancellation was either nonexistent or substantially lower than the agreed-on cancellation fees. If the client is able to provide conclusive proof of such claim, the lump-sum fee will be accordingly reduced or waived completely.
Up to thee months before the event, the Sachsenring Road Safety Centre (Verkehrssicherheitszentrum Sachsenring GmbH&Co.KG) has the right to cancel an agreed date if this is necessitated by a change in the date of a large-scale event or by the addition of a new large-scale event.
