Althougt Swabian by birth, Ruben Zeltner grew up in Austria, where he first came into contact with driving safety training in 1989. At that time he was still a professional racing driver - co-pilot in VW's rally team. Under the tuition of Franz Wurz he learnt the "trade" of a driving safety instructor at the ÖAMTC Driving Techniques' Centre in Teesdorf near Vienna. With his talent and his enthusiasm for driving safety he soon became well known.
In 1995 Ruben Zeltner was entrusted with the task of getting the Sachsenring Read Safety Centre off the ground. Being a shirt-sleeved, spontaneous and unconvertional person, he is a powerful motivator and an enthusiastic champion of driving safety and technique. And he is also an ideal role model since he is a successful rally driver. His favourite motto, "There's always a way to make things work!" is a major factor in creating a cheerful atmosphere and motivating the whole Sachsenring team.
